Good to Great Book Review

When I was in my senior year in college we had to do a book report so to speak on a business book.  One of the choices I was able to utilize was Jim Collin’s Good to Great.

I had heard about this book from Robert Kiyosaki - author of the Rich Dad series of books.  I figured if I wanted to learn how to run/build a great company, this would be an opportunity to read and really understand what Jim Collins research was stating.

Perhaps you have heard of this book or have been given a copy?  Even my brother, the graphic designer, was given a copy to read.  I was impressed he had it on his nightstand until I learned he hadn’t even opened it - oh well!

Anyhow, if you truly want to understand what makes the difference between good companies that do well versus companies that cross that threshold and truly create a lasting legacy, then this book is a must read.

In the book the team of researchers discusses things such as finding the right people for your team and getting the wrong people off the bus.

He also goes into how great companies and great leaders do what’s right for the mission of the company and team instead of worrying about all their perks and benefits.

Real live examples and case studies indicate how even a small company can transcend from that good to great status just by making some changes, thoughts, and taking action towards their goals - all while being flexible.

Get a copy of this book.  Whether you use us or not, as a business owner, you need to be constantly improving, learning, and growing or your business will either die or never grow.

To your success,

Joe Collinsworth
