Free Ways to Advertise My Business - The Most Effective Ways to Advertise For Free
Let’s get to the one thing that is going to make you some money and generate the business you want…
Traffic. Not only traffic, but well-targeted traffic that converts to paying clients and customers.
There are literally hundreds of great ways to generate traffic on the web and the beauty of the Internet is most of them are FREE!!!
The key to doing it for a local business is to target keywords and find great places that will hit your target market specifically.
First you will need a well designed site, with great content or conversion tactics, and online/offline search engine optimization. This is the first step to generating long term traffic.
Here are just a few of my favorite ways to advertise and market my business…
**Writing articles and press releases. Both online and offline this can really catapult you to the top ranks of your profession or business by quickly getting in front of your target market and displaying yourself as the known expert.
**Find both free and cheap advertising mediums online and offline. You can also find trade journals, ezines, newsletters, and other avenues to write articles, advertise, or joint venture.
**Use the biggies like eBay, Craigslist, Amazon, and others to do some cheap and free marketing through reports, auctions, books, and more.
**Set up a blog. In my opinion almost all business and website owners should have a blog to make up to date posts and release information that both your visitors and the search engines absolutely love. There are folks out there alone who make a fortune just from a blog.
**Link building. This is a great way to promote your website and be found! You can do this manually or through software and there are a variety of links you’ll want. There are good links and bad links, so you’ll want to ensure you know which is which.
**Do a video or audio program. Make a professional video and produce it on youtube or other video sites. This is great and if done well can be very viral. There are business video sites you can do this on as well or even submit them to local media sources.
**Publicity. This never hurts unless of course you are in some sort of scandal that would completely ruin your career and image. I remember one time at the tax firm I was working they turned down a News interview to answer some tax questions and provide general tips. I was amazed at this because of the number of folks who were dire for advice during that time of year.
**Directories. You can submit for free or buy listings. Many are free but they can take time to develop because they are typically manually reviewed. You can outsource much of this or you can buy a couple of quality links and get not only traffic but gain popularity with the search engines.
**Pay Per Click. This one does cost, but if done right can be very inexpensive. It is one of the best ways to get quick traffic while you do the above and test different ads.
**Get involved. Produce an ezine. Do some social networking and bookmarking. Join some groups and forums in your area of expertise and share your knowledge. Most of these places allow links in your signature back to your website. If done right being a part of a forum can generate some great traffic.
**Do a joint venture. Find a business that is complementary and offer to trade articles or send something to their/your newsletter list. This is done all the time offline.
**Offline you can get involved in a number of Guerrilla marketing tactics which we have covered in other areas.
This is just a start. I am literally reviewing a report that has over 100+ ways to generate free traffic and we’ll share more later.
